Nice one Darryll hope you feel ok mate, please keep your blog upto date and let us know how things are progressing, wish you all the best for the future, you will always be one of my alltime sporting heroes. I got interested in horseracing in the late 80s and used to follow the late great Robert Sangster and of course Mr B Hills who used to train most of his horses.... my alltime favourite horse is Glacial Storm...... and round about the early nineties B.Hills started using an apprentice who burst on the scene in dramatic fashion and won race after race, I don't know if you remember all the horses from back then..... But one race I will always remember was when you rode a thing ...I think it was called "Darakah" In an all aged handicap, can't remember who trained it?.... not sure of the course either but it was definetly right handed??! you were about 2 from the back with about 1f to go and about 8 horses in front of you and just weaved through like the rest were standing still....magical, that;s when I realised that jockeys made a difference and how different your style was, as time went by I used to try and educate people how classy DH was against say Jason Weaver, when you were both riding for M Johnstone....sorry JW but you probably admit that yourself!! Not quite sure what I'm trying to say here but you'll always be one of my top 3 sporting heroes and its not too late to keep your head down and if not ride a classic winner then at least train one...or two!!
